On Page SEO can also be referred as giving the right markup to the content of the website while emphasizing on the main keywords and the theme of the website. By
Markups it should be understood that the documents should be well formatted using the HTML tags like Meta tags, header tags, bold, italics, ordered lists ete.


Off Page SEO

“Off Page” SEO refers to building your websites global link popularity for a theme or keyword via establishing links over the web to your website with the relevant anchor text that supports your target keywords.

Off page SEO is a very important aspect of an SEO campaign. One can understand its importance with the following example. A website is your property and you are free to say anything about yourself, you can brag around saying that you are the best but I guess everyone can do that, what really makes the different is how many website owners apart from you, think the same for your website that it is a relevant source of information for your theme and are ready to give your website a vote via pointing a link to your website. Achieving these votes from website form the same industry is what I would summarize as off page optimization.
